There are 3 school days until the end of another school year [after today]. I can't believe that this summer will mark 20 years I've lived in this state. And after all that time, I still think of myself as a Californian.

16 Random Things about Me.

1. I am a huge fan of Star Trek. Have been since the 60's. Funny thing is that most of my students think I'm nuts for Star Wars. I like it and have followed it but it just seems like fantasy escapism. I wanted to be on Star Trek!

2. I tell terrible puns. But you know this.

3. I love to read. I buy more books than I ever have time to read, though.

4. I'm a bit of a gadget freak.

5. Childhood heros; Walt Disney, Captain Kirk [see #1]. Teen years; Maynard Ferguson, Bill Watrous, Ray Krok.

6. Music listening ranges from Modern Jazz Quartet and Dave Brubeck to Classic Rock to modern Big Band to Movie Sound Tracks, to Classical, to Concert Band, to Steelpan. I'm all over the map!

7. When I was growing up I fought with my brother over everything. Now a days I never spend enough time with him. He's become one of my adult heros.

8. I've been to Disneyland nearly every year of my life.

9. My parents went on their first date at Disneyland.

10. I'm going to be 49 in 10 days!

11. I hate mornings

12. I'm such a nerd!

13. After living in Arizona for 18 years I still think of myself as a Californian.

14. I've been to Europe and Asia.

15. The school I teach at is a great school! I wish the community around here could see that.
